Another magnificent example of the Canary Island pine.
Golden pollen in abundance—from a landscape that remains special to me to this day. Volcanic soil, sun, wind, and the clear air of Tenerife.
You can also see the characteristic beard lichens on the branches. They are considered sensitive to air pollution and are therefore a beautiful visible sign of how pristine this environment still is.
And this is exactly where the Canary Island pine that our Pino Gordo comes from.
When you stand right in front of these trees, you understand better why I was initially so fascinated by pine pollen. This isn’t an anonymous raw material from some industrial area, but a natural product from a very special landscape.
