Artemisia annua, annual mugwort, has been part of my life for twelve years now. I grow the plant here in Tenerife myself, and over the years I have learned a great deal about sowing, care, harvesting, and processing.
In the original body text for this video, I described my personal experiences very directly. That is part of this story—as are the enthusiasm and pointed wording in the video.
Today, I would make one distinction more clearly: My personal experience is my personal experience. Alongside it, there is scientific research on Artemisia annua, on individual constituents, and on pharmaceutical active ingredients. These are different levels, and precisely because I find this plant so fascinating, I do not want to conflate them.
What remains for me is my personal relationship with this extraordinary plant. I have been sowing, growing, harvesting, and processing it myself for many years. This long-standing involvement with Artemisia is an integral part of the story of Healing Garden Adaptonics.
The video above deliberately remains unchanged. It shows how I spoke and thought about Artemisia at the time. Today, we distinguish more clearly between personal experience, research, and statements about our current products—without rewriting our own history.
You can find out more about the history, research, and our many years of working with Artemisia annua in our Adaptopedia on Artemisia annua.
